The common causes of abnormal noise in shock absorbers include oil leakage, component aging or wear, spring deformation or breakage, and installation or connection problems.
Shock absorber oil leakage:
Oil leakage can cause ineffective lubrication inside the shock absorber cylinder, resulting in significant frictional noise. The solution is to replace the shock absorber.
Component aging or wear:
Deformation of the shock absorber piston rod, cylinder or oil storage cylinder, as well as aging or lack of oil in the shock absorber top seat flat bearing, may all cause abnormal noise. The solution is to replace the shock absorber or corresponding components with new ones, or apply butter on the flat bearings to increase lubrication.
Spring deformation or fracture:
When the shock absorber spring deforms or breaks, the car cannot filter out bumps and produces abnormal noise. The solution is to replace the shock absorber spring as a whole.
Installation or connection issues:
Poor fixation of shock absorbers, worn rubber bushings, gaps in connecting ball joints, damage to the internal valve body of shock absorbers, or bent top rods can all cause abnormal noise. The solution includes tightening the fixing nut, replacing the rubber bushing, inspecting and replacing the connecting ball head, and repairing or replacing the internal parts of the shock absorber.
